Somehow in the dependency graph of his brain it didn't make sense that you could have a stable relationship before you had a stable career. » i can't believe these people are real but empirically they seem to be everywhere hahaha

Maybe the stories we tell ourselves are just a mess of emotions and beliefs about ourselves and others, a maze of twisting narratives that we have to navigate, blindly reaching out until we eventually step through and reach the final shining Truth at the centre of it all.

Or maybe, the stories we tell ourselves are particles of sand and minerals flowing over time into an earthen bowl, until a sudden lightning blast transforms it into a misshapen Truth, a fusion of stories frozen in time and place. You see that warped thing made of sand, heat and grit? That's you, baby! That's you turning your insides out in a grocery store! Isn't it the most beautiful thing you've ever seen? And it is! It really is.
